Total Machine

Designing a large-scale machine tool means making it perform better. We are talking about highly complex industrial equipment, where every design decision must provide direct solutions to operability and day-to-day maintenance within demanding working environments.

That is why, when we began collaborating with Soraluce — one of the brands within DanobatGroup — our work started directly on the factory floor.

We integrated with their R&D team to solve real operational challenges. We carefully analysed every point of interaction between human and machine in order to improve usability for both machinists and engineers.

At the same time, we incorporated the industrial reality of our client from the very beginning, always taking into account manufacturing processes, technical feasibility and cost efficiency. Understanding the end user is essential, but applying the same level of rigour to the manufacturer’s industrial capabilities is equally critical if a product is to succeed.

That first joint technical development became the Soraluce FXR, later recognised with a Red Dot Design Award. But the project’s greatest achievement was the scalable system we created from the outset.

We took all that technical analysis and transformed it into a brand strategy under the concept of “Total Machine”. We defined a distinctive formal language and product architecture that were gradually extended — first across the different Soraluce machine typologies and later throughout every brand within DanobatGroup.
